8mm Marmox Soundboard is an impact sound and thermal insulation panel used on wooden and concrete floors allowing them to be tiled without causing noise pollution to rooms below. Marmox Soundboard is an XPS foam-cored, cement covered waterproof tile backer boards for floors providing decoupling and thermal insulation. It has an additional rubber layer which stops impact sound such as footfall noise on a tiled floor being heard in the room or flat underneath.

• On wooden and concrete floors                                      

• Fix the boards, rubber-side down, to the floor using either a thin bed of flexible tile adhesive or Marmox Multibond.
• Marmox Multibond takes 12 hours to cure sufficiently before tiling.
• A gap of about 4mm should be left between the edge of the boards and the wall.
• Fill the gap with a visco-elastic adhesive such as Multibond to eliminate the possibility of flanking sound happening there.
• Tape over the joints and tile as usual.
• When using with wood laminate flooring, the concrete face is fixed to the floor with Multibond so that the rubber side is facing upwards in contact with the laminate.
• Usage: Marmox Multibond Sealant. 1 tube needed per two boards.
