Ceresit CR166 Two-component Flexible Waterproofing Slurry - Bucket

Ceresit CR166 is a high-performance, two-component flexible waterproofing slurry designed to provide a durable and reliable barrier against water ingress. Formulated with a unique blend of cementitious binders, polymers, and special additives, this waterproofing solution offers exceptional flexibility, crack-bridging ability even at low temperatures, and resistance to both positive and negative water pressure. Ceresit CR166 waterproofing coating delays the carbonation process and provides effective anti-corrosion protection for concrete/reinforced concrete land and water structures. It is also flexible, frost resistant, and offers a strong reduction of capillary absorption of water, which increases surface protection and can cover surface cracks. The product has passed the tests according to EN 1504-2 standard, making it suitable for improving concrete surface protection of different structures and elements like internal humid areas, garages, pillars, and bridges.

The Hydroslide Effect of Ceresit CR166 creates an immediate water-repellent effect, providing a stronger reduction of capillary absorption of water compared to other standard slurries. This leads to a stronger reduction of aggressive substances dissolved in water (e.g. chlorides and de-icing salt), ensuring excellent adhesion of subsequent layers. Packaged in a convenient bucket format, the system comprises 2 x 6kg bags of powder component and 2 x 1L bottles of liquid component, which are easily mixed on-site to create a smooth, creamy slurry. This user-friendly format ensures a hassle-free application process, allowing for quick and efficient waterproofing of a variety of substrates, including concrete, masonry, and existing tiles. APPLICATION

• On balconies and terraces,
• On permanent and temporary wet rooms,
• On swimming pool walls and floors,
• On basement walls, foundations and other concrete structures embedded in the ground,
• On water tanks containing drinking water,
• On municipal sewage treatment plants and septic tanks,
• For waterproofing and damp-proofing on deformable and non-deformable mineral substrates.

How to use

For brush or spray application:

• Mix liquid component B with 2L of water
• Add powder component A while stirring with a low-speed drill

For trowel application:

• Mix liquid component B and powder component A until a homogeneous, lump-free mixture is formed
• Allow to stand for 5 minutes, then stir briefly again

Application Methods:

• Spray application: Apply in a single layer to desired thickness
• Manual application:
  • First layer: Apply generously with a wide wall brush onto a wet (not moist) substrate
  • Subsequent layers: Can be applied by trowel or brush
• Apply each layer diagonally for brush application
  
• Allow 3 hours between layers under average conditions
• Maximum single layer thickness: 1.5 mm

Curing and Drying:

• Protect fresh layers from rapid drying, direct sunlight, frost, and precipitation
• Do not cure by water pouring or spraying
• Can be walked on after 3 days, but avoid heavy mechanical loads
• Wait 3 days before laying tiles, 5 days before painting

Safety Instructions:

• Wash tools and remove fresh stains with water
• Hardened material can only be removed mechanically
• Apply an additional 0.5m margin if protecting reinforcement bars
• Use minimum C2 quality tile adhesive when covering with tiles
• Ceresit CR166 is alkaline - protect skin and eyes, rinse with water if contact occurs
• Chromium VI content is less than 2 ppm over the product's lifetime
